Chris was forced to stop on busy A458 Hagley Road West near Reel Cinema Quinton after striking an object in the road. He called our nearby Halesowen branch for mobile tyre and wheel assistance.
From A458 Blowout to Alloy Welding at Halesowen
The obvious problem was the tyre blowout, but Steve's inspection showed why the wheel itself also needed checking before simply fitting another tyre.
Chris was travelling towards Quinton Island when the Fiesta ST struck an object in the road and the tyre failed immediately.

Steve first made sure the Fiesta was safely positioned and not obstructing traffic before removing the front passenger wheel.

At Halesowen, the failed tyre was removed so the cracked section of the alloy could be properly accessed and prepared for welding.
The small rim crack was repaired by alloy welding before the wheel was prepared for the replacement tyre.
A new 205/40R17 84W XL Maxxis HP6 was fitted and the repaired wheel and tyre assembly was balanced.
Steve returned to Chris's Fiesta, refitted the repaired wheel and got him safely back on the road.

The object in the road had damaged the tyre's inner sidewall, so a new 205/40R17 84W XL Maxxis HP6 was fitted to the welded alloy. The complete assembly was then rebalanced before Steve returned it to Hagley Road West.
