Our Policy

Clear information before we start work

At LTC Tyres & Exhausts, we aim to provide every customer with a professional, honest and reliable service.

This page explains some of the important conditions relating to vehicles and property left with us, tyre fitting and the warranties that apply to tyres, exhaust systems, batteries and other products.

Where a particular product carries a manufacturer's warranty, the length and conditions of that warranty can vary by brand. Our staff can provide more information before purchase.

Please tell us before work begins

If you would like old components, wheels or other parts returned to you after replacement, please make this clear to our staff before the work is carried out.

Likewise, if a particular warranty period is important to your purchasing decision, please ask us to confirm it before purchase.

Vehicles & Customer Property

Leaving your vehicle with us

01

Vehicles Left Overnight

We have limited secure indoor parking space at our branches.

Where a vehicle cannot be stored inside our premises and is left outside overnight, it is left at the customer's own risk in relation to circumstances outside our reasonable control, including theft, vandalism or damage caused by third parties.

Customers should remove cash, valuables and personal belongings from their vehicle before leaving it with us.

LTC Tyres & Exhausts will always take reasonable care of vehicles entrusted to us. This does not exclude responsibility where loss or damage is caused by our negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.

02

Vehicle Collection

Where possible, we recommend that vehicles are collected during normal opening hours once the agreed work has been completed.

Customers who are unable to collect their vehicle should contact the relevant branch and discuss arrangements with a member of staff.

We cannot guarantee that every vehicle can be stored inside overnight due to the limited space available at our workshops.

Tyre Fitting

Alloy wheels & tyre fitting

Our experienced tyre fitters take great care when removing and fitting tyres, including when working with alloy wheels.

Pre-existing wheel condition

Alloy wheels can have existing damage or deterioration which may only become apparent when a tyre is removed or fitted.

This can include:

  • Existing kerb or impact damage
  • Corrosion
  • Previous wheel repairs
  • Cracked or weakened lacquer
  • Flaking paint or powder coating
  • Previous poor-quality refurbishment
  • Previously cracked or welded wheels

Care during tyre fitting

We cannot accept responsibility for pre-existing damage, deterioration or defects to a wheel, or where the condition of a wheel makes normal tyre removal or fitting unusually difficult.

If our staff identify an obvious concern with the condition of a wheel before fitting, we will try to make the customer aware before proceeding where reasonably possible.

This policy does not affect our responsibility to carry out tyre fitting services with reasonable care and skill.

Removed Parts

Old parts, wheels & tyres

03

Old Parts Removed From Vehicles

Unless specifically agreed with the customer beforehand, old parts removed from vehicles are not retained after the work has been completed.

This includes components replaced as part of repair, maintenance, tyre, wheel, suspension, brake or exhaust work.

Want to keep your old parts?
Please tell a member of staff before work begins.

04

Old Wheels & Tyres

Where a customer purchases new wheels and/or tyres from us and wants us to retain their old wheels or tyres for later collection, this must be agreed with us in advance.

Where agreed, we will normally hold these items for a maximum of 48 hours.

After 48 hours, unless another arrangement has been agreed, the items may be recycled or disposed of and we cannot guarantee that they can subsequently be recovered.

Product Warranties

Tyres, exhausts & batteries

Warranty periods and procedures can vary depending on the manufacturer and product supplied. The following explains our general warranty process.

Tyres
New tyres supplied by LTC Tyres & Exhausts are covered by the applicable tyre manufacturer's warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects.

If you believe a tyre supplied by us may have a manufacturing fault, please bring the tyre or vehicle back to us so that it can initially be inspected.

Where appropriate, our policy is to submit the tyre to the manufacturer or its authorised inspection service for assessment.

The manufacturer will determine whether the tyre has suffered from a manufacturing defect or whether the problem has resulted from another cause.
Mild Steel Exhausts
Mild steel exhaust systems and components supplied by us are normally covered by either a 1-year or 2-year warranty, depending upon the exhaust brand and manufacturer.

Warranty periods and conditions can vary. If the warranty period is important to your purchase, please ask the exhaust fitter or a member of our team before purchasing.
Proflow Stainless Steel Exhausts
Qualifying Proflow stainless steel exhaust components are covered by a lifetime warranty, subject to the applicable Proflow warranty terms and conditions.
✓ Stainless Pipework
✓ Stainless Silencers
✓ Stainless Tailpipes

Certain service and wear components are not included within the lifetime warranty. Exhaust rubbers, hangers, associated mounting components and flexible exhaust pipes / flexi sections are covered by a 1-year warranty, subject to the applicable warranty conditions.
Batteries
Batteries supplied by LTC Tyres & Exhausts are covered by the applicable manufacturer's warranty.

Depending upon the battery manufacturer and product range, this will normally be either a 1-year or 2-year manufacturing warranty.

Some batteries or product ranges may carry a different warranty period. Please ask a member of staff before purchase if you would like us to confirm the applicable warranty.
Warranty Claims

What happens if you believe a product is faulty?

Tyre Warranty Inspection

Where a tyre requires a manufacturer's assessment, it may need to be returned to the tyre manufacturer or authorised warranty inspection service.

The manufacturer will inspect the tyre and determine whether the issue is attributable to a manufacturing defect.

The manufacturer's inspection may also identify other causes, including:

  • Pothole or impact damage
  • Puncture or penetration damage
  • Kerb damage
  • Incorrect tyre pressure
  • Wheel alignment problems
  • Vehicle suspension problems
  • Irregular or excessive wear
  • Accidental or external damage

Manufacturer Decision

A manufacturer's warranty claim is not automatically accepted simply because a product develops a fault during the warranty period.

Where manufacturer inspection is required, the manufacturer or supplier will determine whether the failure meets the conditions of its warranty.

A report or warranty decision will then be provided in accordance with the manufacturer's warranty procedure.

We will assist our customers with legitimate warranty claims wherever reasonably possible.

Important Information

Warranty inspections & exclusions

Products returned under warranty may need to be inspected, tested or returned to the manufacturer or supplier before a warranty claim can be approved.

Manufacturer warranties generally relate to qualifying manufacturing defects and may not cover damage or failure caused by misuse, accidental damage, external impact, normal wear and tear, another defective vehicle component or incorrect maintenance.

The precise warranty conditions depend upon the product and manufacturer concerned.

If you would like to know the warranty period or conditions applying to a particular tyre, exhaust, battery or component, please ask a member of our team before purchase.

Your Consumer Rights

Your statutory rights are not affected

Nothing contained within this policy is intended to remove, limit or restrict any legal rights available to customers under applicable UK consumer law.

Goods and services supplied by LTC Tyres & Exhausts remain subject to applicable consumer legislation, including the requirement for services to be performed with reasonable care and skill.

Manufacturer warranties provide additional protection and do not replace or restrict a customer's statutory consumer rights.
